I actually didn’t receive any questions this week so I’ve taken the opportunity to share a challenging phase I’m currently moving through and how I ‘practice’ the lessons in the retreat to support myself through it.

I’m still in active summer mode and I’m in the sea or pool a lot and, here’s a personal reveal, I don’t brush my hair but can see I need to start doing this for these videos. 🤦🏼‍♀️

In this one, I’ve smoothed out the front with my fingers but it’s a bit messy on the side and back – just ignore it. 🙈 I pledge to give it a brush before I start from here on!

Part 1 explores triggers further…particularly defensive reactions.

Part 2 are the answers I received from retreaters in response the these 2 questions I asked last week:

Please excuse my unkempt look and the amateur quality of the recording. I am still on holiday and don’t have all the ‘stuff’ to create a spruced up video so it’s ‘a la naturale’! 

Q1 explores the confronting, complex and excruciating path of recovering from a marital infidelity – from the betrayers experience. This goes for about 15 minutes. 

Q2 is two ‘new year questions’ I have for you which I would love you to email me your answers to:

Q1 clarifies the actual meaning and application of ‘practice’ and specifically ‘how to practice acceptance and compassion.

Q2  encompasses a few questions from me to you.

Q1 is a question about toxic criticism and shaming in relationships and how to put boundaries in place. It is also about how we can unconsciously expect our partners to satisfy and serve us in specific ways and how that creates resentment both ways. 

Q2 is about dying, death and grief and the complex layers of thoughts and feelings that come with this experience. 

Q&A - October 2021

Q1 explores the importance of maintaining awareness of ‘self and other’ (balanced view) in relationships, which is especially difficult when both people are needing emotional support at the same time. 

Q2 is about how to relate to feelings of resentment and curb defensive reactivity to enable ‘Self’ to maintain a balanced view in conflict with the intention to find middle ground.
